Oribe and Te Doves oered a day of education for stylists
at Te Doves Studio in Santa Monica, California. Christopher and Sonya Dove
kicked o the demonstration with styles based on a Studio 54-inspired photo
shoot theyd just completed with inuences ranging from Andy Warhol to
Edie Sedgwick to Jerry Hall. We designed two demos for each model to show
the versatility of the Oribe product range, they said. Because weve devoted
considerable space in this issue to icy blondes and ery redheads, I knew I had to
share the photo on this page with you. Chris Dove did the honors, and no doubt
he was channeling Jerry Hall. What surprised me was her hair color. Te formula
(Wella Illumina 10/36) is exactly the same as the one celebrity colorist Jennifer
J uses to get January Jones into character as Betty Draper on Mad Men. Jennifer
was nice enough to share the formula with us for our story TV Land on page
42. Check it out because weve got the scoop on other awesome blondes and
redheads as well, like Blake Lively, who plays Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip
Girl, and Kate Walsh, who plays Dr. Addison Montgomery on Private Practice.
Youll also want to take a look at Fire & Ice on page 32 where weve got a bevy of
beautiful blondes and redheads to get your creative juices owing this winter. Last
year at this time, we published our very rst issue of Te Colorist, and were proud
of what weve accomplished. Please let us know if weve helped to inspire you.
