When her husband
was diagnosed with
an aggressive form
of cancer in 2004,
Melanie Nickels
began removing as
many toxins and
harsh chemicals as
she could from their
home. In 2007 she
did the same for her
business, opening
Raw Hair Organics
Salon. For the record,
her husband is cancerfree today, and Nickels
has become an
advocate for all things
pure and natural. After
researching a number
of hair color lines
on the market, she
