Beth Minardi collaborated with Joico on a line of
hair color that has her name written all over it.
To
celebrate the launch of Beth Minardi Signature, the legendary colorist shares her
technique for creating an exotic, spicy brunette that you can trust to wow clients again
and again. ���Te desired look is a spicy shade-on-shade brunette,��� says Minardi, who
added interest and dimension to a monochromatic hair shaft by lightening and gently
warming selected strands of hair. Te idea is to create an interplay of warm, golden
sepia-brown and the softest neutral copper by alternately weaving and slicing three
di���erent color formulas throughout the head, concentrating on a higher population of
lighter tones around the face.

STEP-BY-STEP
1 This technique works
best on hair that���s
between a natural level
2 (dark ash brown) and
a level 3 (medium ash
brown).
2 Formula 1: Using
Beth Minardi Signature
Permanent Cr��me Color,
mix 1:2 ounces 5BB
(True Brunette) plus 2
ounces of 20-volume
developer.
3 Formula 2: Mix
2 ounces of 6NCB
(Fawn) plus 2 ounces of
20-volume developer.
Formula 3: Mix 9BG
(Chardonnay) plus 2
ounces of 20-volume
developer. Highly
concentrate these foils
around the face.
4 Use Beth Minardi
Artist Size Foils (7��� x 14���)
throughout the longer
hair lengths and shorter
foils on opposing angles
surrounding the face.
5 After wrapping the
last foil, process at
room temperature for 30
minutes.
6 When processing
is complete, rinse
thoroughly, shampoo and
condition with Minardi
Luxury Color Care
System 2: Balancing
Wash and After Wash.
7 To style, use Minardi
Luxury Color Care
Subdue Frizz Restraining
Cr��me, Minardi Luxury
Color Refecting Drops
and Minardi Luxury Color
Care Flexible Finishing
