AS A PERFORMER, Cleo Elliott has tried on dierent personas over the years, going from blonde to brunette and back again.
Marie Ferro, invited Goldwells Dimitrios Tsioumas to collaborate with her on Cleos new look because he was able to bring a
New York high-fashion sensibility to Malibu. What the two came up with was a kind of rocker-chick ombr. Because Cleos
hair tends to pull a lot of red, Ferro used Goldwell Oxycur Platine with 20-volume peroxide to lift her roots so theyd match
the ends. Ten Tsioumas used Goldwell Elumen High-Performance Hair Color to paint several dierent shades of apricot on
the mid-shafts and ends. I began working with very sophisticated, cotton-candy pastels last spring, says Tsioumas, who
predicts that well see a lot more of them this season. Its kind of like a dip-dyed look, only were strategically placing the
color on the ends this time around. While Cleos color is denitely avant-garde, Tsioumas decided to do a traditional roundbrush blowout before going in with a 1-inch curling iron to set the hair. I liked the idea
of juxtaposing a sophisticated style against this trendy color, says Tsioumas.
