business class blown away Blowouts that refresh hair color are such a no-brainer that youll wonder why you didnt think of it before. have become so popular (think of them as the 21st century equivalent to the weekly wash-and-set) that blow-dry bars are springing up all over the country. So how do you compete? Troy Maier, president of Mad About Color, suggests oering a Color Refresh Blowout. All you need is a blow-dryer, a brush and Mad About Color Blow Dry Cream, says Maier, who recommends charging $60 for the service. If that sounds a bit steep, remember that your client is getting real bang for her buck: a professional blowout plus a color refreshing service that can extend the time between appointments. We know that color intensity fades between color applications due to environmental and thermal aggressors (sunlight, frequent shampooing, blowdrying). We also know that your clients become frustrated with gray roots as their hair grows out, but may extend the time between color services in order to save money. Mad About Color not only oers a quick solution to these challenges, but also provides a new revenue stream for colorists. Te non-damaging conditioning treatment comes in three shades: Platinum, Brunette and Auburn. Choose the shade that best matches your clients hair color and work it into the hair to refresh hair color intensity before blow-drying. Tats all there is to it. While the Color Refresh Blowout can be a lucrative stand-alone service, Maier also recommends the treatment to refresh color after a haircut or to replace glazing services and save time. Lets say your client comes in for a cut and you notice that her color is a bit faded, says Maier. Perform a Color Refresh service at the shampoo bowl to re-pigment the hair and add more shine. You can also use the product in the salon as a ller to even out porosity. Put a client under a hood-dryer, and it will act like semi-permanent color. Or sell it to your client to use as a color conditioner in the shower. Tis product is extremely versatile, Maier says. No kidding.
