Aveda's fall 2013 collection was inspired by the romantic ruralism of the Minnesota farmland.
A
veda Global Creative Director Antoinette Beenders was interested in revisiting a time
when handcrafted was a way of life and people tended the land. That's why you'll see
unfussy hairstyles with loose ends, cuts as smooth as corn silk, and hair colors that
echo the setting sun. "Hair color moves to distinct and true tones, like russet-apple
and calico-corn red woven in a zig-zag pattern to suffuse dark brown hair with natural
light," says Aveda Global Artistic Director Ian Michael Black. The result: looks that
exhibit a humble perfection, a simple beauty that belies their complexity.
