brown black new is te new brown is cool, and it stays cool. That's Goldwell's story, and they're sticking to it. It's also why they're offering new shades with a cool, neutral brown color character. Patent-pending CoolProtect technology ensures that color quality remains more stable than with any other color so after 30 shampoos, the original color character is retained. Choose from three new shades: Topchic Permanent Hair Color in 6BS, 6BM and 6BP. WELLA PROFESSIONALS Before PAUL MITCHELL Dean Roybal of Planet Salon in Los Angeles was one of the first colorists in the country to try ILLUMINA, permanent color that's luminous in every kind of light. The secret is MicroLight technology, and it marks the brand's biggest innovation in the last 20 years. In fact, no other leading premium professional permanent color leaves the hair closer to virgin hair. Roybal shared his formula with us: Wella Professionals ILLUMINA Color 5/35 + 6% 20-volume developer, 7/35 + 9% 30-volume developer and 5/35 + 9% 30-volume developer just launched Shines XG, the future generation of demi-permanent, noammonia cream hair color. Choose from 51 intermixable shades, including Natural (N), Natural Natural (NN) and Natural Brown (NB). Processing time is just 25 minutes, and coverage lasts for 4 to 6 weeks. What's more, cottonseed oil and rice milk help protect hair during processing, leaving it shiny and healthy looking. "My favorite brunette for fall is a blend of soft, warm brunette and cooler brunette tones that are on the same level or one level apart to create a natural, yet dimensional look," says Josh Banks, owner of Slash Salon in Santa Monica, California. The formula: Alfaparf Milano Evolution of the Color 5.14 with 10-volume peroxide, 6.14 with 20-volume peroxide, and 5.32 with 10-volume peroxide. "By using a low-level developer, I avoided unwanted warmth. Then, when shampooing out the color, I applied a wash of Alfaparf Tone-onTone color in 6.14 for five minutes to enhance the brunette tones." After ALOXXI HAS 35 COLOR PERSONALITIES FOR BRUNETTES, INCLUDING MEZZALUNA, GALILEO'S GLAZE, CIOCCOLATO GELATO, MONA LISA'S SMILE, BRILLIANT BERGAMO AND ESPRESSO YOURSELF.
