I t's often a challenge for colorists to achieve cool, vivid red shades, due to the unpredictable nature of red dye molecules. But the new Matrix SoColor High Impact Reds line makes it easy to get consistent and long-lasting results, which is why Matrix Artistic Director Victor Mendoza chose it as his go-to color line for creating our dazzling cover look. Matrix's new 14-product Style Link range helped him create the urban-inspired hairstyle. HOT AND COOL s ep by s ep STEP BY STEP 1 Mix Formula A: equal parts Matrix SoColor 6RR+ and 10-volume Matrix Cream Developer. Mix Formula B: equal parts SoColor 6RV+ and 10-volume Cream Developer. 2 Apply Formula A to new growth on the front of the head using the client's preferred part and a feathering technique. 3 Apply Formulas A and B through the mid-lengths and ends, alternating foils. 4 Apply Formula A to all remaining hair, from scalp to ends, and process accordingly. Rinse thoroughly, cleanse and condition using Matrix Biolage ColorLast Shampoo and Conditioner. 5 To style, spray new Matrix Style Link Heat Buffer on damp hair and layer with Style Link Hold Buster. Blow-dry using a round brush. Using a curling iron, wind sub-sections vertically from mid-lengths down and pin in place. Allow to cool and release.
