Add-ons range in price from $10 for the application of a color-locking serum that preserves hair color to $135 for the Color Blushing service— highlights painted on the top layer of the hair for a sun-kissed look. "T e menus are handed to clients during consultation," says owner Lori Panarello. "It's a great way to increase and introduce services." ➜ AVON, IN To achieve totally individualized, multidimensional looks, Josef Settle of Avant Gard the Salon has been using an interweave technique that involves starting with a base color and then weaving in multiple tones (as many as 14!) by separating the weave out several times, placing every application in foils for even lifting consistency. "This is a progressive hair color technique," Settle says. "When the client returns, you pick up the weave of the primary color, slice out the lower parts of your weave and apply multiple tones into that. It will ref ect the primary hair color with a beautiful overlay of the interwoven colors." INDUSTRY NEWS WHAT'S ON TREND. WHAT'S OF INTEREST. The menu of services at Dye & Dash features seven options, ranging from just $25 for an express Men's Color to $65 for The Bombshell, a full head of foil highlights, and many options are only $30. The salon also features a DIY Dry Bar stocked with blow- dryers, f at irons, brushes and styling products. "Hopefully by lowering the cost barrier to color treatments, we can convince some DIY hair dye enthusiasts to see what a difference a salon can make," says co-owner and manager Constance Abro.
