To achieve this silver gray look with
green accents, Dove and Simpson
pre-lightened the hair to pale yellow
and then applied equal parts 10V
(violet) with 20-volume developer
(6%) to the entire head. Next, they
carved a deep star section out on
the top of the head and, tracing
the outline of the star in foil slices,
applied a level 9 gold-orange
direct dye. Finally, they closed in
the remaining hair around the star
points to create an inverted "V"
section and applied a level 8 direct
dye in a turquoise green shade.
MASTER TIP
"When creating a fashion gray, make
sure your canvas is clean and even,
as well as light enough for the f nal
result," Dove says. "If you're too
dark or warm, chances are you'll
end up with a browner version of
what you desired."
