Drop us a line and let us know what your salon is up to. > labrams@creativeage.com Headdress Salon NEW YORK CITY Located in Manhattan's eclectic East Village, Headdress Salon is owned by husband-and-wife duo Anessa and Henry Daviero. The cozy, boutique fi ve-chair salon, which hosts stars like Karolina Kurkova, Jessica Stam and Taylor Schilling plus features a retail area stocked with products from Purely Perfect, Sachajuan and Rahua, is particularly known for transforming brunettes into platinum blondes. Headdress Salon colorist and blonding expert Simone Mangano shares her top tips: "When taking dark hair to a cool blonde, it's important to take small sections and do the mid-shaft and ends fi rst, and then go back and do the roots like a normal retouch," she says. "The result is that root to end is even, and so is the deposit of toner." Avanti Salon BOSTON With an increasing number of people turning to social media to fi nd inspiration for new hairstyles, Avanti Salon owner Alex Iacobacci decided to forgo traditional client before-and- after pictures in favor of a new marketing tool: video transformations that he posts on the salon's Facebook page and website. e videos allow him to showcase all the interaction between clients and stylists, as well as the collaboration between the haircutter, the colorist and the apprentice. According to Iacobacci, the eff ort has resulted in many new clients and referrals for the Goldwell salon, as well as increased client engagement on its Facebook page. "When consumers watch our videos, they can see the whole process from start to fi nish," he says. "It's a great way to show that our work doesn't come in a box." Revolution Salon SAINT LOUIS PARK, MN Since opening in 2014, Revolution Salon, owned by husband-and-wife team Saeid Homayouni and Sasha Zoghi, has been consistently recognized as a top salon in the Minneapolis area. Among the most in-demand Wella hair color services? Icy blondes and soft, sun-kissed balayage. Key to their success, Zoghi credits savvy marketing practices as helping to drive business and boost the salon's reputation. "Of course as any modern salon should be, we are very active on social media, but I have to say one of our biggest marketing tools has been that our local NBC station has invited us to appear four times on their Saturday morning show to reveal trends and transformations," Zoghi says. "When people see you and your work live, they feel a connection with you even before they come in, and they're more likely to take your advice and trust you." :33
