PHOTOGRAPHY (CLOCKWISE FROM TOP): COURTESY OF REDKEN (3); COURTESY OF KÉRASTASE (2) THE LOOK Paul Mitchell Pop XG semi-permanent color— now available in fi ve new shades—was the key color line used to create this new Lemon Bar look, featuring two-toned fringe set against a backdrop of fashion-forward gray. To achieve the look, the Paul Mitchell team fi rst pre-lightened the hair to a level 10 blonde using Paul Mitchell SynchroLift and 20-volume developer. After rinsing, shampooing and towel-drying the hair, the team applied Pop XG Opalescent, rinsing when the desired platinum blonde was achieved. Then, on dry hair, they took a section from the apex to behind both ears, separating the fringe from the back, and applied Pop XG Steel to the entire back segment. Finally in the front, they took fi ne, horizontal sections and painted a solid, bold line using Pop XG Yellow, separating each section with plastic fi lm to keep the application visible and clean. After processing 30 minutes, the team shampooed the hair with Color Protect Post Color Shampoo and followed with Forever Blonde Conditioner. e recent Redken Symposium 2017 , a two-day education extravaganza held at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, drew 8,000 beauty professionals for 27 color, cutting, styling and business classes; in-depth product knowledge from Redken and 25 other vendors at the Gallerie; and show-stopping performances.
