"Once I graduated, I knew L.A. wasn't the best fi t for me," Caldwell says. "My now boss, Allen Ruiz, had won the North American Hairstyling Awards as Stylist of the Year, and I was so drawn to the beauty of his work. I fi gured it was worth a shot, so I packed up again and made my way to Texas. Three years later, I'm a designer-level colorist and specialize in blonding, but my true passion lies in high-fashion color." That passion clearly comes through in Caldwell's latest body of work, seen here. Caldwell gradually lifted the models' hair over four months so it would be light enough to refl ect true tones without compromising the integrity. The striking, multihued, jewel-toned effects she achieved clearly proved worth the wait. L'Equipe Salon FRANKLIN, MA @ l e q u i p e s a l o n For 25 years, L'Equipe Salon has been providing clients in the greater Boston area with personalized cuts, color and treatments from an expertly trained team of stylists. Among the most in-demand services is fl amboyage, a combination of balayage and ombré hair color that relies on adhesive strips to produce soft peekaboo highlights for a low-maintenance, natural-looking result. At the helm of L'Equipe are owners Stephen and Andrea Cucinotta, who bring a European sensibility to running the business, along with an emphasis on teamwork and ongoing education. "Our future vision for L'Equipe is to continue to grow our individual hairstylists who represent our brand and encompass our team," Stephen says. omas Cole Salon GREAT NECK, NY @ t h o m a s c o l e s a l o n Thomas Cole opened his eponymous salon in 2007 in a 700-square-foot space with six chairs. In 2013, he relocated the growing business to a 2,900-square-foot space inside a historic building. Cole says clients love the inviting, private atmosphere of the salon, in addition to the expert Aloxxi color services, with the brand's Andiamo Express Permanent Color, which processes in only 10 minutes, the most-requested service. Now the successful second- generation hairstylist has sold his salon to a company that plans to open even more locations, and he's offi cially joined Aloxxi. "I'm very proud to announce that I've been selected to be on the Aloxxi national education team—the fi rst team for Aloxxi," Cole says. "The talent is second to none."
