Christopher Salon recently became the fi rst- ever Matrix Biolage R.A.W. fl agship salon in the United States, offering clients natural beauty services in an eco- friendly environment. According to owner Christopher Walsh, the color-friendly, natural-origin formulas (up to 100 percent) are a perfect complement to the salon's color work, with most-requested services including single- process, foil highlights and balayage. "We like to recommend Biolage R.A.W. Nourish or Recover Shampoo and Conditioners to our color clients, along with Biolage R.A.W. Smoothing Styling Milk and Frizz Control Styling Spray," he says. "These leave the hair clean and nourished without any parabens, sulfates or artifi cial colorants." Designed by the Millard Design group, the salon features LEED-certifi ed fl ooring, ceramic tiles made of recycled materials, fl ow reducers that decrease shampoo bowl water consumption by up to 50 percent and LED light fi xtures that reduce energy consumption by 80 percent. The salon is also part of Green Circle Salons," an organization that diverts salon and spa waste from landfi ll and waterways. Walsh says he's thrilled to be the country's fi rst Biolage R.A.W. salon.
