12 The Colorist | MARCH/APRIL 2017 | thecoloristmag.com ar power t's not every day that you get a glimpse at what life is truly like working as one of Hollywood's most in-demand colorists, whose A-list clients include Jennifer Lopez, Emma Stone, Khloé Kardashian and Drew Barrymore, to name a few. Attending Tracey Cunningham's Celeb Inspiration Across Generations class during the recent Redken Symposium 2017 in Las Vegas, however, and speaking with her afterward, really made me aware of just how hard this Hollywood heavy-hitter works, and how much she loves what she does. I learned, for example, that Cunningham sees a whopping 40 clients a day—both at the salon and during private house calls (like Mariah Carey)—relies on four assistants to help things run smoothly and often works as late as 10 p.m. In her role as Redken creative consultant for color, Cunningham also travels the globe, sharing her tips, techniques and career experiences with other beauty pros. Her personal advice for ensuring client satisfaction? " e best way for a home run is asking for a photograph," Cunningham said. "Try to do exactly what that picture looks like. You need to give people what they want and that's how they're going to come back to you." Find more celebrity color inspiration in this issue, our Hollywood edition. Celebrity colorists share their A-list clientele's color formulas in "Camera-Ready Color" and give us a peak inside their star-studded careers in "Talk Show," dishing on everything from how they got their big breaks to their worst rookie mistakes and go-to hair color products. Plus, Matrix celebrity stylist George Papanikolas shares eight things that inspire him to be creative every day in "Muse." We hope this issue will motivate you to give your clients the star treatment every day. i PHOTOGRAPHY: COURTESY OF LOTUS ABRAMS; JB LACROIX; COURTESY OF MARIE ROBINSON; YASINGUNEYSU Lotus Abrams EDITOR IN CHIEF labrams@creativeage.com | up ont | THE HOLLYWOOD ISSUE ★ Cat g up with Tracey Cunn gham ba age at Redken Sympo um 2017 48 34 I love ha blea .
